population 600+ You cannot lose once you reach 200 population. I got bored and decided to use all the remaining cards (over 150 after completing the castle), so I started making mini islands for fun and stopped collecting new cards. i.e. put houses apart, etc. I was only collecting money. Finally cards ran out at population 600 and still got money lol.
pro tip placing grain around the mill in circles is OP and will give you a lot of money.
nice game, I wonder what they will add in the full version
(the screenshot is 4 merged into one, dont know how to zoom out)
After a few attempts, I made it to the castle. Endgame was a bit of a slog, where I just had to play stuff until I find the castle parts.
There was still a little risk I cannot play anything due to low number of rocks & trees and high numbers of quarries and lumberyards in deck, but mostly randomly playing until the needed cards come up. I believe more discard effects in cards could help thin the deck.
Overall it was very entertaining experience. Well done!
super fun game. I beat it, then 3 turns later lost because my hand was full of Quarrys, but I had loads of fun. I was trying to make a really big lake but I ran out of removes
Well, you need coins to continue drawing cards. You get coins almost exclusively from fields (hops/wheat).
To get a field, you need to play a wooden house, which gives you a chance of gaining a field or lumberyard.Only way to get a wooden house is by building lumberyard, which gives a chance of gaining a wooden house or pier. You can only build a lumberyard if you have trees, and you can only get trees, which you get from island card. The only way to get island cards is by playing piers, however, only some island cards have trees.
Therefore, the optimal order would be house -> lumberyard -> pior, because fields and island cards don't grant new cards, it doesn't matter when they are played.
You just put them on top of eachother, for example: Lumberyard can be stacked twice and than vanishes with the surounding trees. Or the castle which you are building. If it´s not working it might be a bug tho
How do people get so far? My record is 36. I can't get past anymore, someone made it to 1000, hello? how on earth. I think I'm getting far, and then it just falls off a cliff, honestly.
I did it! Eventually I started getting overloaded with island pieces and I thought I would game over at one point when I had almost a full hand of quarries and no rocks, but fortunately a tavern card saved the day and I eventually reached my castle cards. Man, accumulating cards was a nice goal until they piled on top of the castle pieces in the last round.
Great game. It’s my 2nd run ended by quarries.
It would be nice if the game told you what cards you get after completing a building (ex. 9 houses or a windmill). Also it’s a shame you can’t build castle walls that would tile nicely.
Or maybe there could be an auto save system. That way, it would allow you to not lose your progress if you quit but you'd also be unable to go back if you ever made a mistake.
Fun game! Good polish. Great game juice effect for such a minimalist type game. Replay-ability is high. Idea. Once you get the Caste Done or this levels end. Have a second level in space as example.
Took me a minute to figure out but you have to keep your hand full as much as you can so you can get Hops and Wheat out for gold , use Remove cards to place Bakeries for maximum gold, use Fish Shops and Taverns well.

You can lose after reaching 200 population, I reached 500, but I still ran out of coins.

I love how subtly challenging this game is to begin with. This is quite addicting!
finally beat the game! can't wait to see the full version
I lost because my hand was full of mills, please lower the drop rate of mills, lol
Quite neat. Wish you luck and satisfaction with further development :)
i worked for like an hour or two on this and im very proud
Mills and Lumberyards are stackable.
This was an awesome surprise, great job!
A walkthrough - completing the castle
Amazingly fun, great job!
for those who are good at the game. Is there a order I should be placing things or does that not really matter?
Doesn't matter. Its similar to sandbox games.
Don't listen to the other guy, this is a deck-builder, the order absolutely matters.
What's the best order?
Well, you need coins to continue drawing cards. You get coins almost exclusively from fields (hops/wheat).
To get a field, you need to play a wooden house, which gives you a chance of gaining a field or lumberyard. Thank you very much, I will make sure to put it to good work
Rather engaging for the game genre. Good mixure of mechanics.
super fun so far! but i cant figure out how to rotate my island pieces on a chromebook?
You can press E
Great game, will be buying when it comes out!
Very cool game!
Great game. super entertaining. Anyone know how to stack the stackables? I've been trying but won't let me.
You just put them on top of eachother, for example: Lumberyard can be stacked twice and than vanishes with the surounding trees. Or the castle which you are building.
If it´s not working it might be a bug tho
ive been playing this game almost nonstop for the past few days! love it!!
Took me a bit to get how the game worked, but once I did it was addicting! The art is so cute, too!
This is really fun! It took me a few tries to get past 50 but after that it got a lot easier, my highest so far is 118
ngl I love watching this game update and grow :)
After 320 it was game over because my hand filled up with quarries and i had no rocks left on the map :')
Awesome Game!!

how do people get so far,,,, it keeps on giving me piers and then i only get islands and never coins or cards,,,, kill me
The first lake on an island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island I guess…
Sid Meyers better watch out, this is the civilization game i was looking for! Love this.
I did manage to soft lock my game by clicking too fast, so my best run died early. But it was a blast!
Amazing game ! A bit laggy once over 500 pops even with my high spec pc. Still very fun while doing something else !

Also Don't add a save function. People will the save and reload if the fail further down the line.
Or maybe there could be an auto save system. That way, it would allow you to not lose your progress if you quit but you'd also be unable to go back if you ever made a mistake.

I hope this takes you far. Really deserved!
I really like the calmness of this game. Its so chill and fun. But still delivers a carrot in front of your nice. Highly recommended.
how can i save my game?
you cant save. no save here
I tried another run. I lost here because I had so much Mill cards and Quarry but don't have Wheat/Hop or Stones on the map.
The lag's constantly increasing the longer you play tho xd
Finally finished with a castle. Not pretty but successful. This game is very fun and well designed.
I thought there were so much more after completing the castle, turns out that's it. I can tell that this game has a great potential.
The pier bug is so broken since doing the normal way would minimize your expansion
A fun little game! I've been dying because I run out of gold and have too many cards, I think I need a new strategy.

Fail to finish the castle. Have near 100 cards in my deck 😅
Great game though 👍
